Founded:
Arosa’s roots were planted over 20 years ago with the founding of LivHOME in California and Nurse Care of North Carolina in the late 1990s. In 2018, these organizations joined forces to further elevate care for seniors, forming the foundation of Arosa.

Industry:
Home health care
Arosa is the nation’s largest home care and care management companies in the United States. In 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canary and Arosa partnered to create an emergency employee relief fund as part of its ongoing commitment to quality jobs for their dedicated, selfless group of caregivers.
The Opportunity
In 2020 our partnership arose out of an acute need to support their frontline workers in the face of a global pandemic. But, at its core, prioritizing an employee relief fund has always been much more than a solution for a moment in time. It was fundamental to Arosa’s commitment to their values and differentiating themselves as a best-in-class employer of caregivers.
It is this ethos that continues to elevate their Grant Circle as an essential offering for their caregiver population almost three years into our work together. Because, COVID-19 aside, a caregivers livelihood can so easily be upended by simple, unexpected emergencies like a broken down car or lack of childcare. By acknowledging the lived realities and near-term challenges of their team, Arosa has successfully sustained a financial well-being offering that truly makes a difference in the lives of their care professionals, whether that be a caregiver or office teammate.
“In the home healthcare business that we’re in, there are a lot of traditional benefits that don’t really benefit our team members. For example, 401(k)s are important, but it is difficult to plan 20 or 30 years into the future if you cannot pay rent or a phone bill this week.”

The Solution
With Grant Circle, Canary’s 3rd-party employee relief fund, Arosa has centralized fair, equitable access to emergency grants for their care professionals across 32 different locations. It’s become a standard, predictable part of a suite of well-being offerings that helps Arosa “attract, train, retain, and treasure the best care professionals and create superior models of care to serve the greatest number of clients” according to Shelli Chavet, Arosa’s Director of Talent Development.
In addition to providing financial resources to care professionals when they need it most, Arosa has embraced collecting donations to sustain their fund. Whether through office fundraisers, annual client donations, or payroll donations, Arosa has built a sense of community through their Grant Circle.
Ultimately, Arosa’s vision is to “elevate the lives of our teammates, clients, and their families through elegant, universally recognized people-centered innovation”, says Chavet. The Arosa Grant Circle is an integral part of their aim to invest in their people because they know happy caregivers provide better care to their clients.
