Canary founder & CEO, Rachel Schneider, joined a panel of HR experts from Ross Stores, GroupM, DHL & Acheivers at From Day One’s Miami conference on November 14, 2023.
Every year From Day One, a forum on corporate values, gathers HR, CSR, and DEI leaders around the country for a local event series. 2023’s theme for these local events was “Rediscovering Community Amid Changing Corporate Values” and hosted countless valuable conversations around creating better work environments and experiences for every company’s number one asset: their people.
At a time when we know employees are struggling to make ends meet financially, Rachel joined the panel to talk about the importance of companies proactively supporting workers during the ups and downs of their financial lives. Let’s face it: employees spend a lot of their time at work. And financially stressed employees are spending 9+ hours/week of that time dealing with financial issues.
At the end of the day, it’s costing businesses money. According to a recent SecureSave analysis, “U.S. companies collectively lose $4.7 billion a week in productivity due to employees dealing with financial stress.” Investing in employee financial well-being is no longer a nice-to-have for companies that want to attract and retain top talent, it’s a need-to-have to stay competitive and meet your employees where they are.
